Xeomin® Injections

What is Xeomin® Injections?

Xeomin® is a medically derived sub product of botulinum type A that has been approved for cosmetic use by the FDA. The sub-unit is called incobotulinum toxin A. when it comes to cosmetic injectables, Xeomin® is the first one that does not require refrigeration before use. Unlike Botox, it does not have any protein additives that may lead to adverse body reactions.

No additives mean there is less risk of the body fighting the neurotoxin. It also means that Xeomin® should not be used interchangeably with other botulinum products.

Xeomin® is a cosmetic injectable available from Miami Skin Dr that is used to treat dynamic wrinkles. Dynamic wrinkles include forehead lines, furrows between the eyebrows and fine lines that appear around the eyes. The treatment smoothens the lines to give you a more youthful appearance.

How does Xeomin® work?

Xeomin® works by weakening the muscles where it is placed to improve the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. When the pull of facial muscles is weakened, visible wrinkles straighten out. The number of injections varies with the area being injected. The treatment takes about 10 minutes.

The effects of the Xeomin® treatment can be seen after 5 to 7 days, and they last for about 3 - 6 months.

Why should you get it?

If you have wrinkles and fine lines on your face, you should consider getting Xeomin® treatments. There are several other reasons why you should opt for Xeomin® cosmetic injectables. They include the following:

  • You can get Xeomin® if Botox® failed or no longer works for you. It is also an option for those who developed allergic reactions to Botox® and Dysport™ in the past. Xeomin® is known to produce better results for those who were not satisfied with botox®.
  • It is a non-surgical cosmetic method that produces long-lasting results
  • There is minimal downtime when you undergo the process
  • It is FDA approved meaning it is safe for cosmetic use
  • It is clinically proven to reduce dynamic wrinkles

What to expect with Xeomin® injections

The procedure is tolerable. Before the procedure, the provider will ask you to smile, frown, and look surprised so they can know where to administer the injections. They will then mark your face and proceed with the treatment that lasts for a few minutes. The treatment varies, and you can receive 5 to 20 injections.

Tiny needles are used to administer the injections. Ice packs and cold air is used to minimize the burning sensation during the injections. The results will not be seen immediately but will take between 5 to 10 days for the full effects.

The results vary depending on the area being treated but overall, expect to have a smoother appearance. Another treatment is necessary after 4 to 6 months. If the follow-up treatment is given too early, it will reduce the effectiveness of the Xeomin® injections.

How much does Xeomin® cost?

Xeomin® treatments are expected to cost slightly less than botox. The exact pricing varies with different providers, and you can get a price from Miami Skin Dr. if you want to get the treatment.
